Art Paper in Kenya
Art paper — also called coated paper — has a mineral coating on one or both sides that stops ink soaking into the fibres. Colours sit on the surface instead, so photographs reproduce far more vividly than on uncoated stock.
Gloss, silk or matte
Gloss gives maximum colour punch and is the usual choice for flyers and posters. Matte is non-reflective and easier to read under office lighting, which suits text-heavy brochures. Silk sits between the two and is the safe default for annual reports and menus.
Weights
115–150gsm is standard for flyers and magazine interiors. 200–250gsm suits brochure covers. 300–350gsm behaves like a light board and is used for premium covers and folders.
